Send studies via email

Email studies can be sent by either:

Using Attributes from your Backend

Attributes that have already been configured and sent to Sprig will appear in the dropdowns as Filters.

️ Warning

Events cannot be used as a filter for email study delivery

Using a CSV

Sprig supports CSV uploads, which you will find under the Connect page. You can either drag and drop or find a file to upload.

For more information on the CSV file format and other requirements, refer to our Upload a CSV File documentation. Once complete, attributes will be available to target in Filters dropdown.

Steps to create an Email Study from a CSV

  1. Upload your CSV This should include one email attribute and a categorical variable (allowing to specify a category to send the study to).
  2. Click the Browser Reload button (this causes the attributes to be loaded into the Sprig UI).
  3. Create your study in the usual way.
  4. When you have completed the questions, click Audience.
  5. Click Email.

Example CSV File

  1. Click Add Filter.

  2. Select the categorical variable (in the preceding CSV example, it would be list_name).

  3. Select is equal to.

  4. Select the value for the categorical variable (in the preceding CSV example, it would be Email Campaign 1).

  5. Complete the Email Copy to personalize the email.

  6. Click Advanced to include an Email Reply Address.

  7. Click Total Responses and select Deliver immediately.

    ️ Warning

    You must select Deliver immediately as Deliver until statistically confident does not function with Email Studies.

  8. Optionally, Click Send Test Email to send a test Study to up to three recipients.

  9. Click Launch Study and Sprig will send your study to all the emails in the grouping you specified.
