Long-form surveys are delivered through links that seamlessly embed across all your customer channels.
How to Create a Long-Form Survey
- Click the New Study + button then select Long-Form Survey.
- Next, you'll see the Sprig Study Editor. Add questions and descriptions, set button and label text, and response options. Choose from all the question types available for In-Product and Feedback surveys such as Rating Scale, Open Text, and Multiple choice: Single Select. To create a page that shows multiple questions at once, add a Multi-Question: Single Page question. Add Skip Logic to control how respondents move through the survey.
- To offer translated versions of the survey click the globe icon next to the "Add Question" button at the top of the Study Editor. This will add a new "Language" section to the bottom of the survey where you can select the languages you want the survey to be available in, download a CSV to add the translations to, and upload the completed translation file. If a survey has more than one language, respondents will see a language drop down when taking the survey.
- Once you've finished building the survey, head to the Audience tab. Here you can choose to deliver the survey through a User Interviews panel and set how many responses you want to collect. Aside from a panel, Long-Form Surveys are only available through a link.
- Once you’ve finished customizing Audience settings, you can preview your survey to make sure it looks exactly how you’d like. Note that all existing CSS, color, and logo settings will be automatically applied to Long-Form Surveys, no need to do anything else if you've already set this up.
- You're all set! Copy your survey link and share it with respondents however you like—email, text, a webpage, or even from an In-Product survey!
- When sharing a link to a Long-Form Survey, you can append a parameter to the URL to have Sprig capture identifying information with responses. To do this add either
?user_id={{user_id}}
or?email={{email}}
to the end of the survey link, depending on what type of information you want to collect (you can also add both parameters). The system sending the link to respondents will need to fill in the appropriate user ids or email addresses (by replacing the{{user_id}}
or{{email}}
in the examples above) in order for Sprig to capture the data for each respondent and associate it with the record for that user.
